Commonly Asked Questions...

  1. I'm completely new to yoga or haven't practiced for a very long time and/or am not very fit, is your program suitable for me?

We provide a rather active itinerary and yoga immersion program. Therefore it is ideal to have at least basic understanding & experience with yoga (a minimum of 10 recent classes), to be in general good health, and to have an open mind toward experiencing something new/challenging prior to embarking on a week-long holistic yoga retreat program with us!

  2. I have health issues... can I still participate in the program?

For your own protection, we not only recommend attending retreat when you are in good health but also require that any health issues be disclosed and discussed with us - and your doctor - openly and honestly prior to booking a retreat stay.

  3. I'm passing through Hvar / staying in other accommodation, can I stop by for a class, treatment, meal, etc.?

Due to the limited space and intimate nature of our retreat, we are unable to provide services to drop-in guests during busy summer months, though options may be possible in spring and autumn. Contact us to inquire.

  4. Can my friend /partner/child, who is not able/interested in participating in the program, join me on retreat?

Due to limited space, we give priority bookings to fully participating retreat members, especially during summer months when we are likely to be fully booked, though we are open to discussing your particular situation.

  5. I can't stay for the full program length... can I sign up anyway?

Our program is conceptualized to take our guests on a complete body-mind-spirit journey from start to finish, therefore priority booking is given to those who are able to complete the full program. If places remain available for the week you are interested in joining, a last-minute booking option may become available, depending on whether this makes sense according to the event theme and other logistical considerations.

  6. How much pocket money should I bring for lunch & other free time activities not included in the program package price?

Lunch and snacks - can be had in town or by the beach for as little as 5-15 euros for set lunch menus or light snacks (possibly a little more, depending on what you choose). You can also purchase snack foods at the local markets in town.

One restaurant dinner - expect to pay between 25-40 euros for typical 2 or 3-course meal, more for premium dishes & service.

Other approximate costs: Round-trip ferry to & from the island 10 euros / Museums entrance fees 2-3 euros / Bus fair to or from Hvar Town to Dol 4.5 euros, one way / Taxi fare to the retreat from the Stari Grad Port, Vrboska, Jelsa and Hvar towns / port: 15, 20, 25, 40 euros one way, respectively / Bike rental 10-15 euros per day / Scooter rental 20-25 euros per day / Car rental (not including petrol costs) 35+ euros per day.

  7. What is your smoking/alcohol policy at the retreat?

As a sacred shelter for nurturing the body, mind & soul, where many guests come with the intention to detoxify from unhealthy lifestyle habits, we ask that all retreat members make a commitment to refraining from smoking, drinking or taking recreational drugs during retreat time. This includes during all scheduled group activities and on the retreat premises itself. If you need to smoke or prefer to sample the local wine/beer/spirits, please do so with discretion, away from the retreat group, and in your free time and, for your safety, please do not come to the practice under the influence of alcohol or other stimulants, including large amounts of caffeine.

  8. What should I pack?

We recommend that you bring the following:  comfortable yoga or activewear / clothes for various kinds of weather / comfortable walking shoes / waterproof beach shoes (for rocky sea bottom) / 2 swimming suits (May- October) / beach towel or sarong / mosquito repellant / refillable water bottle / journal / earplugs / flashlight (for moonlight strolls in Dol) / personal toiletries / travel Insurance!

You may also want to bring your own yoga mat, though you may borrow one from us, provided it is cared for and washed down by you prior to departure.

  9. How should I coordinate my arrival & departure plans to and from the retreat?

Because we run back-to-back retreat weeks and have limited time to prepare in between retreat groups, we ask all participants to follow our arrivals & departures schedule as posted on our travel page here.

  10. How can I make a reservation?

To make a reservation, check with us for availability, review our terms, and send us your booking form. We do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours!
