Evening Marie (Eve)

Suncokret's Co-Founder, Program Director & Holistic Lifestyle Coach

Evening Marie is a native New Yorker with over 20-years of experience teaching holistic lifestyle tools through her visionary project called "Suncokret." 


Prior to realizing her life's purpose through Suncokret, she held two dynamic and successful careers in Entertainment (as a writer & performer in music, theater & film) and EFL Education for adults and children.


Evening has trained in various yoga styles and traditions, in both Europe and India, including Suryasakti Yoga (an Ashtanga-Vinyasa-based practice), Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, and the Integrated Approach to Yoga Therapy, as taught by Yogacharya Saji at the International Vasishta Yoga Research Foundation in India. 

As a certified Yoga Therapist, Reiki Master, Bioenergy Therapist, and Quantum-Touch Healer, Evening is passionate about sharing the more subtle, healing powers of yoga and complementary holistic practices, as the means to conducting a balanced and blissful life.


After experiencing her own deep soul awakening that lead to a complete holistic lifestyle makeover, Evening feels a great calling to guide and assist others on their pathway to self-discovery, self-healing, and self-empowerment. She enjoys coaching people from all walks of life and designing therapeutic programs to support personal growth & wellbeing.


As the program manager and primary host during all events at Suncokret, Evening Marie blends holistic traditions with intuition to render a transcendental holistic lifestyle experience that is appropriate for both new and seasoned path-walkers alike.

Stipe (Steve)

Suncokret's Co-Founder, Head Chef, and Island Host

Stipe is a Hvar Island native with a lifetime of hands-on experience in the local customs, culture, and cuisine.


He is a certified Agro-Tourism manager and a trained and gifted Chef who has worked in some of the most renowned restaurants on the island. He has trained aspiring chefs and restaurant owners in the art of creating delicious and authentic Dalmatian cuisine and prepares delicious, nourishing meals for our retreat guests, sourced from local ingredients, often those found in his gardens and fields.


Growing up on the family stead in Dol (the Suncokret base) with organic veggie gardens and fruit trees, as well as an olive grove and vineyard in the UNESCO-protected Ager Plain, Stipe is an experienced organic farmer, olive-oil producer, and wine-maker.

Stipe's role at Suncokret as a head chef, local guide, logistics manager, and all-around good guy is a natural extension of the skills, interests, and natural talents he was born with and values.

Stipe is dedicated to the Dalmatian way of life that places family, home, community, and the honoring of local traditions as top priorities. He is a man of service who wears a smile naturally and is always there to lend a helping hand.

At the encouragement of his wife, Evening Marie, Stipe opened his family's home, heart, and mind to foreign yet equally holistic and wholesome lifestyle pathways and people, and therefore helped co-create the first holistic lifestyle center in Croatia to blend yoga and holistic healing modalities with the Dalmatian way of life. 

Stipe co-hosts all Suncokret events together with Evening, but plays an especially active role in leading the "Soft Adventure" and "Taste of Hvar" programs.

Davorka Tolič

TRE & Essential Oils Educator

Davorka has worked in the field of education for over 15 years. Her specialty is interpersonal relationships and soft skills. She discovered yoga over 10 years ago and completed her 200-hour TTC with Sangha Yoga in Zagreb, Croatia.


In addition to being a certified yoga teacher, Davorka's constant search for personal development led her to the TRE (Tension Release Exercises) technique, which she started practicing on her own. This eventually led to her decision to complete a year-long training as a TRE provider.


In a personal quest to find a deeper connection to self and nature, Davorka began to blend her yoga and TRE® practices together with essential oils, which she considers to be a gift of mother nature that promotes our well-being.


Davorka offers individual training and workshops in Aroma Freedom Technique and Raindrop Massage. She also uses essential oils as part of TRE and yoga sessions.

What is TRE®?

TRE® is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

Since this shaking mechanism in the muscles is part of our natural behavior as humans, everyone can benefit from TRE. This shaking of the muscles increases the resiliency of the body because it causes deep relaxation that naturally reduces stress levels. Spela Koderman

Face Yoga Instructor

Špela has been interested in living a healthy lifestyle since she was a teenager. In recent years she has been drawn into the art of maintaining vitality and pursuing longevity (hormone yoga, Taoist practices, energy medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine).

In 2014 Spela had her first encounter with Face Yoga and loved its beneficial effects so much that she decided that more people should have access to this knowledge. A year later she became a certified Face Yoga Instructor and has been passionately sharing this knowledge ever since.


She is well aware that each face is unique and therefore she guarantees an individual approach to each participant in her courses. Her biggest reward is her clients' enthusiasm when seeing the change they have achieved in a fairly short period of time.


During the retreat week, you will find out what face yoga is and how it works. Špela will share with you how to reduce the negative effects that time, gravity and stress leave on our face, how to completely naturally lift the face, diminish wrinkles and other signs of aging, what are the approaches to achieve a younger and more radiant appearance.

What is Face Yoga?

We are all well aware of the importance of training our body in order to keep it healthy, firm, and beautiful. But many times we forget about our face where more than 50 muscles are present. As time passes by the gravity, stress, worries and negative feelings leave lasting trails on it.

Face yoga is a completely natural, non-invasive, and health-enhancing method of rejuvenating your face.


Such training effectively transforms your facial muscles that have been weakened and overstretched by time, gravity and stress, back to a healthy, energized, well-toned condition. Moreover, it prevents healthy muscles from deteriorating and atrophying.

Practicing face yoga increases blood circulation to the face, neck, scalp, and hair, enriching every cell with more oxygen and nutrients and increases the production of collagen and elastin. Edina Husanovic

Artist & Co-Host of Wonderful Wild Family Retreat

Edina Husanovic is an artist, researcher, and educator, with twenty years of experience in teaching. She has also had twenty years of practice in Buddhist Vipassana meditation as well as more than 5 years of yoga practice.


Since graduating with her Fine Arts degree in 2000 with First Class Hons, she has traversed complex and varied educational and professional environments that have given her broad experience and skills.


Her interest in cultural politics and performance art practice led her to complete a Ph.D. at the University of Reading in 2017.


Her thesis ‘Dis-Orient Express: Belly Dancing, Hybrid Identities, and Performances of the Oriental Feminine Other’ deconstructed the politics of the Oriental Other through analysis of belly dance performances in various European geographies, along the route of the Orient Express.

In the last ten years, she has been lucky to spend long summers in Croatia, on the island of Hvar. Throughout the summers of 2009-2017, she organized and led children’s summer art and dance workshops in Vrisnik, an ancient stone village. The workshops resulted in the first art exhibition in the village, an event that pulled the whole community together in a unique way, and was repeated over the following 8 years with even more success. The workshops were part of Open House Hvar, an international artist collective, where you can learn more about Edina's work.
