Suncokret's Co-Founder, Head Chef, and Island Host
Stipe is a Hvar Island native with a lifetime of hands-on experience in the local customs, culture, and cuisine.
He is a certified Agro-Tourism manager and a trained and gifted Chef who has worked in some of the most renowned restaurants on the island. He has trained aspiring chefs and restaurant owners in the art of creating delicious and authentic Dalmatian cuisine and prepares delicious, nourishing meals for our retreat guests, sourced from local ingredients, often those found in his gardens and fields.
Growing up on the family stead in Dol (the Suncokret base) with organic veggie gardens and fruit trees, as well as an olive grove and vineyard in the UNESCO-protected Ager Plain, Stipe is an experienced organic farmer, olive-oil producer, and wine-maker.
Stipe's role at Suncokret as a head chef, local guide, logistics manager, and all-around good guy is a natural extension of the skills, interests, and natural talents he was born with and values.
Stipe is dedicated to the Dalmatian way of life that places family, home, community, and the honoring of local traditions as top priorities. He is a man of service who wears a smile naturally and is always there to lend a helping hand.
At the encouragement of his wife, Evening Marie, Stipe opened his family's home, heart, and mind to foreign yet equally holistic and wholesome lifestyle pathways and people, and therefore helped co-create the first holistic lifestyle center in Croatia to blend yoga and holistic healing modalities with the Dalmatian way of life.
Stipe co-hosts all Suncokret events together with Evening, but plays an especially active role in leading the "Soft Adventure" and "Taste of Hvar" programs.

TRE & Essential Oils Educator, Business Consultant and Coach
Davorka has worked in the field of education for over 15 years. Her specialty is interpersonal relationships and soft skills. Throughout her career, she has conducted over 1500 group training sessions and has given hundreds of hours of in-person and online coaching. She is constantly educating herself in order to be able to share the latest trends and tools with her clients.
Davorka discovered yoga over 10 years ago and completed her 200-hour TTC with Sangha Yoga in Zagreb, Croatia.
In addition to being a certified yoga teacher, Davorka's constant search for personal development led her to the TRE (Tension Release Exercises) technique, which she started practicing on her own. This eventually led to her decision to complete a year-long training as a TRE provider.
In a personal quest to find a deeper connection to self and nature, Davorka began to blend her yoga and TRE® practices together with essential oils, which she considers to be a gift of mother nature that promotes our well-being.
Davorka offers individual training and workshops in Aroma Freedom Technique and Raindrop Massage. She also uses essential oils as part of TRE and yoga sessions.
What is TRE®?
TRE® is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.
Since this shaking mechanism in the muscles is part of our natural behavior as humans, everyone can benefit from TRE. This shaking of the muscles increases the resiliency of the body because it causes deep relaxation that naturally reduces stress levels. It can release emotions ranging from mild upset to severe anxiety whether it is caused by work stress, excessive worry, conflict in relationships, physical stresses or traumas from accidents.
TRE® benefits Include:
Less Worry & Anxiety
More Energy & Endurance
Less Workplace Stress
Less Relationship Conflict
Reduced Muscle & Back Pain
Greater Emotional Resiliency
Healing of Old Injuries
Lessened Anxiety surrounding Serious Illness
Relief from Chronic Medical Conditions
Content Strategist, Social Media Maven, and Published Advertising Copywriter
The daughter of two immigrants who arrived in America via Yugoslavia (before its collapse), Kristina Pejovski is a content strategist, social media maven, and published advertising copywriter, specializing in the poetry of capitalism. Wink Wink.
After graduating with a BA in Advertising and Anthropology from Temple University in 2012, Kristina departed Philadelphia with the intent of becoming entrenched in the creative limelight and energy of good ol’ NYC. Dancing her way through one ad firm to the next, positioning herself as a freelancer and internationally acclaimed hair flipper, she sought out the sweet taste of freedom-- of inexorable growth and inspiration.
In 2017, armed with a thirst for travel and an unabashed fire to consume every cultural quirk imaginable, Kristina set sail (literally), alongside flying, busing, hitchhiking, backpacking, and cutting through air on trains, through four continents and 19 countries in a period of a year.
With nothing but a backpack and her rock climbing equipment, Kristina found herself meeting strangers left and right, sharing hot/cold meals, lamenting about life on a cliffside, pulling up rocks, swimming alongside delicate corals and hiking terrain she thought was near impossible to step foot on.
Back to her Roots
And so after her great exploration (that was totally unplanned, btw), Kristina landed back in Denver, Colorado to take a B R E A T H. Little did she know, the universe would stick its tongue out in a “na na na na na” kind of way and craft a new plan-- a plan to relocate her to Rome, Italy and subsequently to Zagreb, Croatia, where she lived for a year. Back to her roots. Back to basics. Back to freedom.
She is lucky to call some of the most beautiful places in the world her office and elevates words to illuminate ideas, educate, inspire, uplift and generate. Throughout her career, she has worked with a variety of clients in entertainment, outdoor sports and leisure, fashion, luxury lifestyle, and automotive. She is always looking to deliver big ideas with point-of-relevance execution. Some of her previous clients include Architectural Digest Germany, Amazon, DIRECTV, LG Electronics, Chandon, Sofitel, Old Navy, Nordstrom, Sotheby’s, BMW, Lexus, Keds and Paragon Sports.
Her philosophy is to approach all opportunities from a holistic, integrated perspective. When she’s not busy evolving her customer’s brand story, creating high-performing content within the digital space, she can be found in down-dog on her yoga mat, traveling, exploring nature, delving into the world of alternative medicine, and pulling up rocks, as she has a deeply rooted passion for rock climbing and sweeping views.
Before departing Croatia in September of 2020, Kristina found herself enveloped in the beauty of Hvar’s magic and volunteered with Suncokret for a few months. A beautiful friendship blossomed with Evening and family, and she insists that the island and fam will be one of her forever homes. ❤️

Face Yoga Instructor
Špela has been interested in living a healthy lifestyle since she was a teenager. In recent years she has been drawn into the art of maintaining vitality and pursuing longevity (hormone yoga, Taoist practices, energy medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine).
In 2014 Spela had her first encounter with Face Yoga and loved its beneficial effects so much that she decided that more people should have access to this knowledge. A year later she became a certified Face Yoga Instructor and has been passionately sharing this knowledge ever since.
She is well aware that each face is unique and therefore she guarantees an individual approach to each participant in her courses. Her biggest reward is her clients' enthusiasm when seeing the change they have achieved in a fairly short period of time.
During the retreat week, you will find out what face yoga is and how it works. Špela will share with you how to reduce the negative effects that time, gravity and stress leave on our face, how to completely naturally lift the face, diminish wrinkles and other signs of aging, what are the approaches to achieve a younger and more radiant appearance.
What is Face Yoga?
We are all well aware of the importance of training our body in order to keep it healthy, firm, and beautiful. But many times we forget about our face where more than 50 muscles are present. As time passes by the gravity, stress, worries and negative feelings leave lasting trails on it.
Face yoga is a completely natural, non-invasive, and health-enhancing method of rejuvenating your face.
Such training effectively transforms your facial muscles that have been weakened and overstretched by time, gravity and stress, back to a healthy, energized, well-toned condition. Moreover, it prevents healthy muscles from deteriorating and atrophying.
Practicing face yoga increases blood circulation to the face, neck, scalp, and hair, enriching every cell with more oxygen and nutrients and increases the production of collagen and elastin. This cleansing and enriching process augments the vital life force available to your face and body, ensuring proper detoxification and bringing a glow to your entire complexion.
Face yoga exercises also stimulate and balance the functioning of the glands. This precise workout has a direct and beneficial influence on the functioning of our glands, which play a key role in the rejuvenation process, help us to maintain our vitality and energy levels, and ensure that our bodies are in optimum working condition.

Since graduating with her Fine Arts degree in 2000 with First Class Hons, she has traversed complex and varied educational and professional environments that have given her broad experience and skills.
Her interest in cultural politics and performance art practice led her to complete a Ph.D. at the University of Reading in 2017.

The workshops were part of Open House Hvar, an international artist collective, where you can learn more about Edina's work.
