Relax in an authentic Dalmatian village surrounded by olive groves and pine wood forests...

Suncokret welcomes you to Dol, an authentic Dalmatian farming village that dates back to the 12th century. Our complex is made up of restored farm houses, with a newer addition next door. Our retreat offers the unique opportunity to experience a taste of the local way of life in its truest sense, while taking part in an intimate, holistic retreat experience.

Facilities are shared between guests and hosts, as well as life stories, and special moments. The atmosphere is that of a nurturing and supportive family of friends, and we welcome you to be a part of it!

"Thank you so very, very much for an absolutely amazing week in paradise. You have, together, built something very special - simple, spiritual and beautiful. It began to feel like my home. It wasn't as I expected, but grew to love it because it was not "the expected"."
- Beverley, Canada

"You created an atmosphere of trust and respect, right at the start, making this place a healing corner of paradise, helping me and many more feel better and more positive toward life." - Louise, Canada

"Our holidays in the most beautiful part of the world were great!! The landscape, the sea, the beaches and coves are amazing. All these beautiful things are topped by the love with which you present your Suncokret Center. It's a very warm and personal atmosphere, the rooms are very pretty, the fridge is filled with home grown vegetables... There is always a helping hand when guests are not able to bring necessities with them... All this, and the fact that you and Stipe are personally interested in the well-being of your guests, made it possible for us to relax on the very first day. Thank you for everything!" - Martina & Marcus, Germany

"Hvar, Suncokret, Evening and Stipe is a blend of Croatian magic that has revitalized all my senses! the exquisite taste of freshly picked figs and grapes, still warm from the sun; the pervading scent of lavender and rosemary; the endless view of bright blue skies and turquoise seas; the background sounds of cicadas and church bells; the cool feel of clear sea water, and stroking (the Suncokret pets) soft head & tummy... all this, combined with the kind and generous hospitality of Evening and Stipe has made the past 2 weeks unforgettable." - Anne, UK

Review, as featured in Body & Soul Escapes, Footprints Books, March 2007

"Suncokret is an easy-going, friendly retreat based in the peaceful village of Dol, an old-fashioned settlement of scattered stone cottages and farm buildings set amid vineyards and pinewoods. Small groups are accommodated on the premises, in old cottages adjoining the family house. The décor is basic but homely, with colourful Indian bedspreads and vases of fragrant, freshly-picked herbs. Living space is shared and each house offers fully-equipped kitchens, bathrooms with washing machines, plus patios and large tables for indoor and outdoor communal meals.

A farmhouse atmosphere prevails, with the family’s cats and dogs checking out newcomers, and a neighboring cockerel delivering his sunrise call each morning. Additional accommodation can be arranged in guesthouses in the village. Stipe cooks delicious Dalmatian specialities for dinner, with an emphasis on local seasonal produce (think wild asparagus and artichokes in spring), using vegetables and herbs from the garden, freshly-caught fish, and the family’s own organic olive oil and wine. Guests are from all corners of the globe and come here to relax and rejuvenate. Many are are professionals, anywhere in their late 20's to early 50's, searching to escape stressful urban life." -Jane Foster, writer
