Explore the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects these theme-based retreats represent. Annual themes serve as a metaphor for body, mind, spirit work done through the event. The result is a more profound understanding of the theme itself and your relationship to it. Happy New You 28 December - 3 January, 2009 The New Year's season brings with it the chance to reflect on the year's events and to form resolutions, which will steer us in positive, new directions in the coming year... We will be practicing Essence Therapy Yoga, a gentle yoga style which aims to heal and revitalize the body through alignment with Universal Life Force Energy. The energy channeled through our yoga practice will be transmitted through the land, sea and air in this anniversary of unprecidented global prayer for peace and earth healing . To prepare, we will create energy art pieces, to represent aspects of ourselves and our planet which we would like to heal. This is the largest unified worldwide yoga event, dedicated to positive change, in the history of the planet. Fundraising celebrations will consist of meditation, yoga, and chanting. Global Mala Honors the Fall Equinox, Sept. 23rd, which also coincides with the United Nations International Day of Peace. Harvesting & Group Events Grape-Collection 13-19 Sept., 2009 Grapes and wine are an ancient symbol of fertility, joy, healing and vitality. Wine represents the" Blood of Life" and the alchemical process of infusing the creative, intoxicating spirit into matter. Wine is used in the sacred rites of many civilizations, representing the presence of the Divine Spirit on earth. This week will be spent harvesting grapes from our vineyard, learning about old and new methods of grape production, and manifesting the many qualities this delicious fruit brings out in us. This event will be co-hosted with Beatrix Montanile and Jennifer Hicks. Two classes will be offered daily; one in Hatha Flow Yoga and the other in Nia, an energizing fitness practice that is rapidly gaining popularity throughout the world. Nia blends dance arts with martial arts and healing arts and is suitable for every-BODY, from the beginner to the elite athlete. We will also be harvesting olives and learning about their historical and symbolic significance, in order to emulate the magical qualities they draw out in us during the retreat experience. It goes without saying that we will incorporate this delicious fruit into our cuisine.
