Suncokret (pronounced soon-tso-kret) or Sun.C. (sun-see) for short, is the Croatian word for "sunflower. Suncokret literally means "sun-revolver,", an accurate description of the sunflower's devotional relationship toward the divine light of the sun, which, in turn, enables it to blossom to its fullest potential.

Suncokret is the story of our destined meeting in 2003, which led to a marriage of diverse cultures, talents and life experiences, which each complimented the other, and gave birth to a unified vision of a dream-life, which we openly share with you.

Stipe - The Sun

Chef & Island Host

Stipe (pronounced "Stee-pay"), or Steve, is a Hvar Native and has been blessed with a lifetime of hands-on experience in organic farming and food production traditions. He is also a certified chef, whose tasty blend of organic, homegrown ingredients will tantalize your tongue and nourish your body and soul. One of Stipe's favorite pastimes is to charter new pathways through the lesser-known, wilder side of the island, connecting our guests to the island's ancient heritage and the "spirit of the land". Stipe is proud to share his heritage with visitors from around the world who wish to experience a taste of the authentic, Hvar Island culture.

Holistic Yoga Therapist

Evening is a New Yorker with a 30+ year background in yoga and performing arts. She is a certified Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist and has trained in various styles of yoga, including Suryasakti Yoga, Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan & Yoga Therapy as taught at the International Vasishta Yoga Research Foundation in India. She is also a Reiki Master and Domancic Method Bioenergy Therapist. Suncokret is the manifestation of Evening's visionary abilities, realized through the transformative powers of holistic healing arts and the LIfe Path Awakening process, which she happily teaches to individuals on the path to self-discovery.

Dol Village - An Ideal Retreat Location
